I had recently upgraded my server to 2 dedicated NSA-325 nas servers. While this is very nice the integated syslog is not. For those who don’t follow, a syslog is a protocol to send out system messages about your system. In my nas case this includes messages of harddrive failures etc. Pretty useful stuff.
i found this program syslog watcher syslogwatcher.com
it is without a doubt one of the best programs out there. It lets you configure evrything you want. In my case i’ve set up some email alerts if any messages come in regarding my hard drives. Very cool stuff!
